Journey Church is grounded on several beliefs derived and supported from Scripture. These statements in the "What We Believe" tab are not inclusive of every area of theology (theology means the study of God and religious doctrines) and life, but they are those beliefs that we believe to be essential to someone who is a Christian. Other teachings that important but may come explicitly from scripture, we leave to the individual’s interpretation. Here how that looks for us...
In essential beliefs – we have unity.
“There is one body and one Spirit….one Lord, one faith, one baptism, and one God and Father of us all…” “Live in harmony with one another….” Romans 12:16
In non-essential beliefs – we have liberty (grace).
Ephesians 4:4-6 “Accept him whose faith is weak, without passing judgment on disputable matters….Who are you to judge someone else’s servant? To his own master he stands or falls….So then, each of us will give an account of himself to God….So whatever you believe about these things, keep between yourself and God.” Romans 14:1, 4, 12, 22
In all our beliefs – we show charity.
“If I….can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing.” 1 Corinthians 13:2
Now that you have read this... go read "The Essentials" tab.
